FAQ's answered by Robyn
Is Stirring Embers an Organization or a group of Friends?
We have a unique makeup. We are an organized group that functions like friends who have fun, encourage one another, and challenge each other forward.
Stirring Embers is specifically designed for flexibility and customizable flair with the core value of being refreshed and enriched without burnout. We come together for impact in the lives of others and our communities in various ways according to our individual gifts, passions, and ideas. The raw nature in which it is formed is because that actually is how it was formed. I'm an entrepreneur and national speaker who wanted to cultivate what I felt deeply in my heart to meet and benefit others beyond what I spoke and wrote about. I'm blessed with those God has put in my life, and I desire that for everyone. So, I decided we should try to make and create that for everyone.

WHAT DOES A STIRRING EMBERS GATHERING LOOK LIKE?
Here's where it's really exciting. Though our Stirring Embers gatherings have a consistent and intentional makeup, they will all look a little different! We only like cookie-cutter structures for...well...making cookies! Lol. Gatherings tend to rotate between casual meetups at a coffee shop or restaurant, and a more intimate gathering at a home or special location.
A casual meetup requires no real prepping, gives a neutral location to drop by at, supports local businesses, and fills the community with your presence!
|
A gathering can be anything from a popcorn bar and a movie, an appetizer graze with cocoa and connecting, a cupcake in a mug party around a campfire with coffee, and much more!! They tend to be little longer than a casual meet-up for quality time.
|
Both a casual meetup and gathering tend to be come and go as needed, with the rare exception that being present the whole time is encouraged. Casual meetups run about 1 and 1/2 hours. Gatherings are about 2-3 hours. Both can take place on a weekday/weekend and morning/afternoon/evening so everyone can make one or more when they can. Variety has given quality consistency and ultimate inclusivity as well.
Do people have to be a Christian to join?
Nope! Anyone can attend and enjoy their time. No signup needed. Come over and get some coffee. ;)
DO I HAVE TO BECOME A MEMBER TO JOIN?
Nope! You get to randomly show up, get a coffee, grab a snack, and relax whenever you're able!
DO I NEED TO COMMIT TO ANYTHING?
Nope! Just show up and enjoy. You only contribute what you'd like. Some people offer to bring an appetizer, some people offer to host out of their home, some offer mentorship, but nothing is required of you. We're specially designed to take place and go on no matter the level of involvement of individuals. That's the beauty of it! No burnout. No expectation. No shame.
Burnout Free? What?
Yep! Though I love and respect how other organizations and ministries operate, I saw a need for people to just be who they were as they connected in a casual way and a deep level of impact as well - they needed a way to thrive in a rejuvenating format that could fit any season of life they were in.
Most programs build a box, and then make you fit your life and priorities into it and around it. I decided to flip that concept and create something where people were nurtured while involved no matter what season of life they were in. So, I cultivated and formed Stirring Embers. I saw a lot of "Embers" flickering away from their vibrant blaze or the potential to be that. They needed to be stirred into a place of enrichment and breathability. So, whether you attend 3 times in a year, 10 times, or more - that's okay!
Whether you decide to attend for 30 minutes when you go, or become a leader to cultivate another group - that's okay!

Can I make Money Doing This Too?
No. The group part of Stirring Embers is all about connection, relationship, and community impact.
I wanted to expand the message of Stirring Embers to be fully applicable in an inclusive and accessible way - not just a message I spoke from the platform.

ARE YOU A NON-PROFIT?
No. The unique formation of Stirring Embers and how it functions in flexibility, freedom, and raw nature is what makes us who we are. Being a non-profit would've compromised the integrity in how Stirring Embers was originally formed in an out-of-the-box, grassroots manner. Though we'll operate as a business, our passion is to pour into Stirring Embers, its growth, being generous, and paying collaborators fairly. Our local community gatherings are built on offering as much as we can with no cost.
